Description
The Mount Edgcumbe American & Classic Car Show and Summer Fair is back for 2023!
Tickets to enter your car into the show completely sold out last year, so enter now to avoid disappointment!
About the Show
Featuring over 800 cars of all marques, Mount Edgcumbe Classic & American Car Show is the biggest annual event held at this beautiful country park!
Not just a car show, the summer fair has something for everyone – from local crafts, artisan food & beverages and a fairground to keep the children entertained, we even have a popular car boot section.
Quoted in the February 2023 edition of Custom Car Magazine as ‘One of the biggest events of it’s kind… you’d also go a long way to find a better value car show’.
The event is formally opened at 11am, but visitors can arrive from 9am when the fair and car park opens.
It is estimated that in excess of 10,000 visitors attend our show each year – and for good reason! With the beautiful backdrop of Mount Edgcumbe House at the top of the park and the scenic Barnpool with views across to Plymouth, you can enjoy the scenery from anywhere in the showground.
What’s more, you will be supporting 2 local charities by attending our event!
Volunteering at our event
We can’t put this event on without the generous help of a huge team of volunteers. If you think that you, or anyone you know, would be willing and able to help us on the day then please get in touch
If you are able to give us just a couple of hours of your time then we will give you free parking for the day. (which admits you and everyone in your car into the show for free!)
Volunteering roles include: car park marshals, stewarding in the car show field and taking payments in the car park.
Travelling to the event
Please respect the one way system put in place on the peninsula. We work closely with the Local Safety Advisory Group (containing representatives from local emergency services and councils) to put this in place.
We understand there were some issues last year, they have been highlighted with the traffic management contractor and measures have been put in place to improve this year.
Please bear with us, we aim to put on a superb event and welcome as many of you as possible. But with small roads and limited public transport, this is sometimes challenging.
Pre booking
Pre booking is for entry into the car show only. If you are planning to attend the event as a visitor then simply turn up on the day and pay to park, entry into the show is free.
The Charities
This event supports 2 important local charities:
Cornwall Hospice Care run the only 2 adult hospices in Cornwall and are almost entirely reliant on donations and fundraising events like this one. £24 will help to fund an hour of nursing care for our patients and their families here in our local community.
The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park are a local charity consisting of like-minded people who love the Park and wish to see it preserved and improved for the enjoyment of all.
